Monmouthshire Barn Conversion Architects

Site visits are slightly different since leaving London! But this new project is on another scale.

Last week we visited this large farm complex near Abergavenny in North Monmouthshire which had recently been purchased for development. The site includes three independent dwellings, traditional stone barns, and a collection of agricultural buildings,

We were appointed to come up with a master plan for part of the site which will include a new dwelling, and a number of live/work studios with private courtyards separating the buildings and uses.

The former cow sheds are have a large steel portal structure with concrete sab, making them suitable for Class Q conversion. Class Q was introduced in 2014 to allow conversion of redundant agricultural buildings into converted dwellings. There are a number of criteria that the building must meet to be considered suitable:

There are many redundant barns and agricultural buildings in Monmouthshire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire that may be suitable for conversion as a Class Q Barn Conversion.
